A fun, fast paced conspiracy theory thriller that blends a plethora of Doctor Who related stories and characters without descending too deeply into the dreaded fanwank territory. The plot revolves around the investigations of fictional journalist James Stevens, alter ego of real life author David Bishop, and his determined efforts to expose what he see's as the covert and sinister operations of UNIT during the Britain of late 60s and early 70s. Almost a template for later televised stories such as Love and Monsters this foray into alternative universes works well.
